TOMMY WILLIAM BAKER, 90, of Bristol, VA passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Scott County, VA on January 1, 1935, a son of the late Elder C.J. Baker and Rosa Whittaker Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four infant brothers and sisters; two brothers, John Baker, and Norman Baker; two sisters, Mary Baker and Charlene Smith; and a stepson, D. Joe Sorrell, Jr.

He had lived in Washington County, VA most of his life. He retired from Raytheon Corporation after 32 years of service and was a lifetime farmer. He was a trustee of Chestnut Flats Church and also a trustee of Millers Cemetery. He was saved at the “Old Log Church” Gardner’s Chapel when he was a young boy.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Baker; a son, Tommy R. Baker; a stepson, Stephen Sorrell and his wife, Jill; a daughter-in-law, Penny Sorrell, widow of Joe Sorrell; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
