MARY SUE BAKER, 86, of Bristol, Virginia passed peacefully into her heavenly rest on April 10, 2025 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Donald Baker; grandson, Levi Richard Carter; parents, Elder Charlie James Baker and Rosa Bell Whitaker Baker; and siblings, Juanita, Handford, Lawrence, Ruby, Johnny, Norman, and Charlene.

As a child Mary gave her life to Jesus while on her knees at the “Old Log Church” Gardner’s Chapel. She was an active member of Chestnut Flats Primitive Baptist Church, where she will be remembered for her humble prayers.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Donette Carter, husband, Richard, and their children, Noah Carter, and Chelsey Powell, and husband, Zach. Her son, Brad Baker, wife, Vanessa, their sons, William and Ross Baker, as well as a brother Tom Baker and wife, Linda. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
