INA KAY SHORT, 78, went to be with the Lord May 2, 2025.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Lidle and Melissa Quillen, brothers Jim (Norma Jean), Richard (Bernice), and Sam (Wanda); sisters, Millie Marcum (Bob), Callie Mae Stanley (Herbert), Maggie Forkum (Ben), Shelby Robinette (Don), Ethel Russell, Shirley Cradic (Jim), and Bonnie Reece (Carl).

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 56 years, Gary Short, her sons, Christopher and Sean; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kay was a devoted wife, loving mother and faithful servant of Christ. She never met a stranger and was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She never spoke an unkind word and lived a life of quiet strength, compassion and grace. We miss her shouts in church, but we know she is shouting now praising the Lord and is no longer suffering.
