EARL LEE DODSON, of Sneedville, Tennessee, was called home to be with his Lord on October 7, 2024, at age 84. He was born on January 3, 1940, to Elder Elmo and Velva Dodson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, his sister Vada, and his brothers Howard and Clarence.
Earl Lee was a dedicated member of Swan Creek Church. Professing salvation and joining the membership at a young age, he committed himself fully to the church and his friends there. He was ordained as a deacon on June 4, 1972, serving the church for 52 years. He also was a steadfast member of the Eastern District Association of Primitive Baptists. Even when Earl Lee’s illness progressed, he continued to attend church regularly, as well as travel to the Union Meetings. As everyone who knew him can testify, his walk as a Christian was faithful and pure.
Left to mourn his passing are his sons, Rodney (Edie) Dodson and Greg (Tammy) Dodson; grandchildren, Cody (Carrie) Dodson and Lindsay Brooks; great-grandchildren, Caden & Cooper Dodson and Jalynn Brooks; sister-in-law, Rose (Bobby) Brown; nieces, Danita Dodson and Malisha (Tommy) Seals; nephew, Jeff Keck; and several cousins and many special friends.
Earl Lee’s family, friends, church, and community loved him very much, and they will never forget his devotion to them. They will also remember his stories, his friendliness, his humor, and his strength in the midst of illness. He will be missed by all who knew him, but they are assured he is resting peacefully with the Lord.
