BARBARA ELKINS COLLINGSWORTH, 81, went to her Heavenly Father on June 1, 2025, peacefully at her home. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Lee County and daughter of the late Hubert and Merle Elkins. Barbara was saved and baptized at an early age and was a member of Davis Chapel Church on Wallen's Creek. She loved to serve others in her community, and each September she would "gear up" for the Elkins' Family Reunion, which is made up of families from 13 states.

Barbara is preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Elkins Mills Tharp and Lydia Lavinia Elkins Hall, brother and sister-in-law, Patton and Ollie Elkins, and by her former husband, Bobby Collingsworth. Barbara is survived by her son, Gary (Angela) Collingsworth; granddaughters, Ashley (Brandon) Broadhuhn, Verity Collingsworth, and Autumn Collingsworth; two precious great-grandchildren, Pyper and Phoenyx Broadhuhn; sister, Bobbie Speck; brother, Tommy Elkins; brother and sister-in-law, James Crawford "J.C." and Nell Elkins; a host of special nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, and cousins.
